Londýnské a barcelonské radnice dostávají cenu Zlatého měsíce Mezinárodní asociace nočního života

During the 3rd Golden Moon Awards Gala held in Ibiza on Tuesday night two European City Councils, London and Barcelona were recipients of the Golden Moon Award for the Best Government Supporting the Nightlife Industry and for the Best Awareness Campaign respectively. Sharon Hodges, Vice-Consul of the British Government in Ibiza, collected the award for the Best Government Supporting the Nightlife Industry 2017 on behalf of the London City Hall which was given by Antonio Flamini, Head of Nightlife Commission at HOTREC. London’s City Hall became the recipient of this award for their hard work in bettering London’s nightlife and keeping it strong by naming Amy Lamé as Night Czar, who’s done a great job this last year in defense of London’s nightlife. Meanwhile, Salvador Vilanova, President of the Bars, Restaurants and Nightlife Association of Barcelona, collected the Golden Moon Award for the “Best Nightlife Awareness Campaign 2017”, for the joint execution between the city and the sector for the campaign “No Means No” against sexual assaults, from the Director of Equality of the Council of Ibiza, Judith Romero.

On the other hand, Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel was named the World’s Best Club for the second time, being the most important nightlife award in the listing of The World’s 100 Best Clubs 2017 in which five continents have taken part in, aimed to highlight the best nightlife venues in the world, presented by the International Nightlife Association. Said award was collected by José Luis Benítez, Director of institutional relations of Palladium Hotel Group, a chain to which Ushuaïa belongs to, and where this ceremony took place. Marta Díaz, Vice President of the Consell d’Eivissa handed the golden trophy to Benítez who collected the award on behalf of Palladium Hotel Group.

The Golden Moon Award for the Best Business Development of Nightlife 2017, was granted by the CEO of Quintesentially in Spain, Paulo Ribeiro followed by The Best Nightlife Business Group 2017 which in this case was handed by David Costa, representative of Coca-Cola European Partners. Juan Carlos Díaz, President of the American Nightlife Association collected both awards on behalf of Hakkasan. Hakkasan Group imposed itself over the five continents on the list by creating luxury nightlife entertainment venues that have been raising the bar when it comes to promoting excellence and prestige such as Omnia Las Vegas, winner of the 2016 Golden Moon Award for World’s Best Club.

For his part, the Director of Tourism of the Council of Ibiza, Vicent Torres, presented the award for Best Security Action 2017 to the General Director of Mic Group, Jordi Miró for the International Nightlife Safety Certified distinction which is starting to be implemented all over the world to make nightlife venues safer. The Best Nightlife Career 2017 award was given to Maurizio Pasca, for his great work defending nightlife as President of the Italian and European Nightlife Association. A distinction that was handed by Helena Benlloch, Tourism Councilor of the City of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, host city of this event held on the island of Ibiza. Finally, the Golden Moon Award for the Most Original Action in Defense of Nightlife Prestige has fallen in the hands of Lady Tabata. Lady Tabata herself, Barbara Delmasto Meoni, was awarded the prize “Most Original Action in Defense of Nightlife Prestige” for the comic “Maximum Fun, Minimum Disturbance” that is promoting good behavior among young people while on a night out. This award was presented by Christian Braun, a spokesperson of the Ibiza Nightlife Association (Ocio de Ibiza). After two days of intense debate, the 4th International Nightlife Congress closed its events with the 3rd Golden Moon Awards Gala, awards created to reward those professionals and companies that carry out important work in the nightlife sector. The General Secretary of the International Nightlife Association, Joaquim Boadas, congratulated all the winners of these prestigious awards “for their trajectory, excellence, quality, safety, protection of health and the environment and innovative ideas that have led them to become recognized one more year for being the best establishments in the world based on these different categories “, making a special mention to the City councils of Barcelona and London, as well as to Maurizio Pasca, President of the European Nightlife Assocation, for the prizes obtained. For Boadas, clubs like Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel or venues like the ones Hakassan Group owns, have ranked consecutively for the Golden Moon Awards he mentioned “it is not a coincidence, since they are the most valued venues in the five continents that are ranking on the list not only by the professionals of the sector but also by its users”.

For the first time the nomination and voting process took into account the publics preferences, since everybody was able to vote for the club of their choice through the International Nightlife Association’s Facebook page, entity which has organized said events. An election process that was made up of 30% public vote and 70% was in the hands of a professional jury, led by a group of experts among which they highlight professionals linked to the world of nightlife, drinks, brand managers, professionals in the world of tourism and members of the Association
