Yemeni authorities announced Thursday that international airline flights, including Arab airlines, have suspended all flights to Sanaa International Airport for 24 hours due to the security situation in the capital city.
This the security threat in the capital city Sanaa brings the airport operation to a stop.
This comes as Houthi insurgents are attacking army posts close to the airport and have also been accused of shelling that is targeting the state television Headquarters.
Earlier, President Abd Rabbo Mansour, in a meeting with military and police top brass, said that the government “extends the hand of peace and dialogue” to the Houthis. He added that the country cannot withstand any more bloodshed, escalation and wars.
